Nurturing Talent at North Hertfordshire College for the ‘UAF 2024’

At Driift, we believe in the transformative power of art and its ability to empower individuals. Our collaboration with Junction 7 & Nort Herts College SEN students is a testament to this belief. We spent considerable time with the college to pinpoint exactly how we could support their Special Educational Needs (SEN) students. This involved meetings with the students to understand their unique talents and to instill confidence in their artistic abilities.

The engagement led to Driift assisting with the college’s end-of-year project, which excitingly coincided with the launch of the Urban Arts Festival. This provided a perfect platform for these talented students to showcase their work and gain invaluable real-world experience.

Kyle’s Journey: Kyle, one of the students, received one-on-one mentoring from our team to transform his hand-drawn logo sketch into a digital format. This not only professionalised his original design but made it usable on merchandise and various products, enhancing his exposure and professional experience.

Chloe’s Innovation: Another student, Chloe, was mentored to harness her skill in drawing on-demand portraits and caricatures within 10 minutes. This service not only added a unique feature to the festival but also offered a sustainable business model for Chloe to continue beyond the event. Additionally, we supported her in creating products from her existing artwork and supplied her with new art equipment to expand her creative repertoire.

These stories highlight just a snippet of how Driift is committed to nurturing the next generation of artists, providing them with the tools, confidence, and opportunities to succeed.
